Sunday is a torrential rainfall . . .

Sunday is a torrential rainfall that doesn’t let up for a second. It is a release of all that was held in– a deep wail from the belly of the sky. The rain drenches the once dry earth and soaks it to its very bones.

It is the sound of beautiful chaos– of winds that shift and rain that falls heavy then light then sideways.

It is an evening of no Internet and so we bring out the DVD player and watched “Totoro” for the hundredth time.

When the kids go down to bed, Sunday is red wine and “Spirited Away”, a story of a girl who wins the hearts of spirits with her courage driven by love and kindness.
